The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District has seven K-5 schools, four K-6 schools, two K-8 schools, two middle schools (6-8), three comprehensive high schools, one alternative high school, one community day school, two charter schools, and a dual language immersion program. Other sites include the Enrollment/Instructional Materials Center, Hayes Education Center, Special Education, warehouse, maintenance, transportation, and the District Office. The District provides a wide range of educational and support services for students of preschool age through adult.

The Monterey Peninsula Unified School District seeks to prepare students for life in the 21st Century by meeting individual needs through equal access to an integrated curriculum. We encourage all students to become life-long learners committed to the pursuit of knowledge. Our students will appreciate and understand the richness of multicultural diversity and global awareness.

They will use technology to acquire, apply and create knowledge. They will have positive self-esteem and demonstrate that a healthy mind and body are essentials for learning and a quality life. We believe that safe schools are orderly and purposeful places where students and staff learn and teach free from the threat of physical and psychological harm.
